Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common digestive disease around the world, and people with it need to take medications, without violating doses and dates, to control symptoms.
In the following lines, “Consultation” looks at a list of the most important GERD drugs with names and prices, according to Dr. Mohamed Radwan, a pharmacist inspector at the Ministry of Health and Population.

Medicines for GERD
1- Gaviscon wine
Javxon syrup plays an important role in relieving the symptoms of GERD, particularly heartburn and indigestion, and is safe for pregnant and lactating women.
The drug is available in pharmacies, priced at 45 pounds.

2- Maalox syrup
One of the most famous and effective drugs in the treatment of GERD and stomach ulcers, however, you should consult your doctor before taking it, due to the possibility of suffering from an allergy to one of its components without knowing it.
Maalox causes a number of side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, headache and muscle weakness.
The price of Maalox at the pharmacy is 35 pounds.
3- Epicogel syrup
Epicogel helps reduce stomach acid, due to the fact that it contains aluminum and magnesium, but it should be taken into account in the light of the dose prescribed by the doctor or written in the package leaflet of the drug, because its excess leads to constipation and nausea.
Pregnant and lactating women and patients with kidney disease are prohibited from taking Epicogel.
Epicogel is available in pharmacies for 12 pounds.

4- mucogel syrup
Micogel provides protection for patients with GERD against gastric and intestinal ulcers, but is prohibited for patients with kidneys, pregnant women, dehydrated people and people on a diet.
The price of Micogel in the pharmacy reaches 12 pounds.
5- Renée tablets
Renee tablets neutralize the hydrochloric acid secreted by the stomach, which helps relieve the symptoms of GERD, but it is best not to take it for allergy sufferers.
To get the effectiveness of Rene, the price of which in the pharmacy is 55 pounds, its tablets must be chewed.
