The recent search by citizens to know the prices of gasoline today has intensified, and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced earlier that the prices of petroleum products will be determined, whether increased, reduced, or stabilized, in accordance with the decision of the Automatic Pricing Committee at its next regular meeting, which is expected to be held. In the first quarter of this year, this question comes in conjunction with high inflation rates and poor global and local economic conditions. Many citizens and motorists seek to know the prices of gasoline today, and the relevant Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products is currently following up and implementing the mechanisms for applying automatic pricing for petroleum products on a quarterly basis, in addition to amending the prices prevailing in the local market last November. The Automatic Pricing Committee also discussed Global and regional variables, including political events and economic indicators, had a direct and indirect impact on the increase in global prices for petroleum products and Brent crude prices, which exceeded $90 per barrel. Article Two of the Prime Minister’s decision stipulated the application of the automatic pricing mechanism on octane gasoline for consumer delivery. - The price of a liter of gasoline 80 reached 8.75 Egyptian pounds before the decision of the automatic pricing committee.
- The price of a liter of gasoline 92 reached 10.25 Egyptian pounds per liter before the decision of the automatic pricing committee.
- The price of a liter of 95 gasoline reached 12.5 Egyptian pounds before the decision of the automatic pricing committee.
It is worth noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi refused to increase diesel prices, contenting himself with gasoline prices only in order to reduce the burden on citizens in Egypt.
The price of the product will be reviewed in accordance with what was stated in the decision, provided that the percentage of change in the selling price to the consumer does not exceed 10% increase or decrease.
