Gasoline prices stable in Jeju despite small oil tax cuts

[한라일보] It seems that the reduction of gasoline tax cuts has not yet been reflected in gasoline prices in Jeju.

According to Opinet, the Korea National Oil Corporation’s oil price intelligence service, the average price of gasoline per liter in Jeju as of 10 am on May 2 was 1,568 won, up 12 won from last month’s 31st. Gasoline prices at the cheapest gas stations in Jeju are around 1,479 won.

From the 1st, the fuel tax reduction for the purchase of gasoline was reduced from 37% to 25%, bringing 99 won per liter from 516 won to 615 won. With the oil tax hike, the price may rise by around 100 won per liter, but that doesn’t seem to be reflected in the price yet.

The industry believes that the time to reflect on the fuel tax reduction for each gas station may vary depending on stock depletion.

The price of diesel, which maintains the previous 37 percent reduction in the oil tax, the highest ever, is 1,691 won, lower than the national average of 1,720 won. The lowest price via Jeju is 1,629 won. However, the gasoline reversal phenomenon continues.

An oil industry official said, “Because the oil tax levied on petroleum products is enforced from the time the oil refineries are shipped, it can be seen that there is a time difference of about one or two districts. before the oil tax change is applied. reflected in the actual selling price of the gas station.”
