Gasoline prices at gas stations nationwide have risen for the 9th consecutive week.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation’s Oil Price Information Service Opinet, the average price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide in the third week of January increased by 7.9 won from last week to 1,447.2 won per liter.
Gasoline prices in Seoul, the nation’s highest priced area, rose 10.4 won to 1,525.4 won per liter from last week, 78.2 won higher than the national average.
The lowest gasoline price in Daegu, which is 11.6 won higher than last week, is 1,430.3 won per liter, which is 16.9 won lower than the national average.
The price of gas stations nationwide also rose 7.8 won from last week to 1,247.6 won per liter.
The Korea Petroleum Corporation analyzed that “international oil prices have declined slightly due to the impact of the International Energy Agency (IEA) lowering the oil demand forecast in 2021 and the temporary decrease in the supply of Corona 19 vaccines in Europe.”
