Gasoline in the blood – The Felix Melnikoff column #45 | Enduro.de

For me, September was all about preparing for the Six Days, and there was still a lot for me to do.

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON – ISDE 2024

After a pretty long summer break, things are really getting going again in October. Finally, the next important event is on the agenda with the seventh round of the International German Enduro Championship in Streitberg. After my persistent viral infection in the summer, I followed the advice of my trainer Stephan Nüsser and first completely checked my health and really cured myself. This plan of course includes our original dates in the German Motocross. Championship fell victim. It was important to get really healthy. After such an intensive break, there was of course a lot to do, because endurance and strength now had to be built up again. But I got a good plan from Stephan and bit by bit I fought my way back to my old form.
And after a break like that, riding a motorcycle is really fun again and you can hardly wait to accelerate again. So I gradually trained diligently again for the upcoming events. Whether I can get back to my old form will be seen in Streitberg at the seventh round of the International German Championship.

But in addition to the hard training and school, which is also entering the final spurt for me this year, there is still a big event coming up. As I announced in my last column, I will be competing again this year in the Junior Trophy national team at the ISDE 2024 in Spain. Of course there was a lot to prepare. The effort wasn’t nearly as immense as last year, when the big trip went to Argentina, but this year’s venue in Santiago de Compostela/Spain isn’t exactly around the corner either. So we decided to fly this year too. Which in turn meant that we had to hand in our equipment to the Enduro Sport Club in Sontra. The large container is now well packed and will then set off on its journey to Spain at the beginning of October.

THANK YOU – it doesn’t work without support

I am very happy to have received such great support from my BvZ Racing team and KTM again this year. Also at the Rider Store, which supports me with boots and helmets and racing clothing, and at DEKALWERK, which provides the “eye-catchers”. I would like to thank you very much. As per the regulations, I’ll be racing again this year with a white helmet, which will look really good this time thanks to TZ Designs. The delivery from Würth also arrived just in time and so I won’t be missing anything. Without the support of the ADAC Sports Foundation and the ADAC Berlin Brandenburg and my loyal sponsors from home and of course my family, who accompanies me, none of this would be possible anyway and I can’t thank you enough for that

IN FRONT OF THE LENS – press events

To ensure that there is no boredom, the training and the preparation of the machine and technology were also accompanied by numerous press appointments. But I actually really enjoy it in front of the microphone and the camera and I’m really happy that so many people are interested in my passion and accompany me on my path

OUTLOOK

Of course, I hope that everything goes a little more according to plan at the 6 Days this year and that we don’t have any unpleasant surprises when it comes to arrival or the weather. We’re unlikely to beat the 50 °C on the first day of driving in Argentina, so I’m excited to see how the 6 days go under “normal” conditions. Directly after Streitberg, on October 8th, I’ll go on the big journey and off to the next adventure to the Six Days 2024 in Spain. I hope you keep your fingers crossed for our whole team that we get through the six days without any cancellations. We will definitely give it our all and in the next column I will definitely have a lot of exciting things to say about the Enduro Team World Championship. Until then, please follow me on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube and of course always on Enduro.de.
