In Ukraine, from April 1, 2021, gas suppliers can set any prices for blue fuel without restrictions from the Cabinet of Ministers. As a result, several companies decided to raise the tariff from 6.99 to 8-25-8.85 UAH per cubic meter.
So, the supplier “Margaz” offered a price of 8.25, and “Azovgaz” – 8.85 UAH per cubic meter. As a result, a family that, for example, uses 200 cubic meters of gas per month, now pays UAH 1,398, and after the increase, Azovgaz and Margaz clients will pay UAH 1,770 and 1,650, respectively.
Until April 1, the Cabinet of Ministers limited the maximum gas tariff. It cannot be more than 6.99 UAH. However, starting next month, no one controls the suppliers. They have the right to supply blue fuel at the price they consider reasonable.
In addition, from May 1, Ukrainians will be transferred to annual tariffs. Optionally, it will be possible to return to monthly prices. According to various estimates, the annual tariff can also be about 7-8 UAH for individual suppliers.
We will remind, in Ukraine already on April 25, according to the draft resolution of the National Commission in the field of energy and utilities (NKREKU), all suppliers must publish annual gas tariffs. However, the tariffs may be less favorable than in the situation if the annual prices were introduced after the end of the season.
