DARMSTADT – Currently, several fuel pumps are burning at the Gräfenhausen Ost gas station and rest area. Fire brigade and police are on duty. The Autobahn 5 is completely closed in the direction of Frankfurt.
According to the first findings of the police, a vehicle hit one of the gas pumps on Monday morning at around 6:50 a.m. and triggered the fire. The fire then spread to the other pumps and another vehicle. The extinguishing work is in full swing. The area around the tank system is largely cordoned off.

Complete closure at Darmstadt-Eberstadt
After a car drove over an overturned construction site boundary on Monday morning on the A5 between Darmstadt-Eberstadt and the Darmstädter Kreuz in the direction of Frankfurt, the motorway at the accident site had to be completely closed. The axle of the car broke.
