Gas Prices Surge as Australian Workers Threaten Strike

MILAN, 21 AUGUST – Gas opens sharply on the Amsterdam market. Futures contracts for the month of September gain 18% to 42.9 euros per MWh. The leap is due to the ultimatum launched by the Australian workers of the Woodside Energy Group liquefaction plants, ready to go on strike if an agreement is not reached with the company on August 23rd. A similar warning came last week from colleagues at Chevron.
