In Ukraine, the cost of gas as of October 1 (average) reached a historical record – more than 38 UAH per cubic meter or $ 1447 per thousand cubic meters. This situation has already led to an energy crisis in Europe, while in Ukraine, budgetary organizations run the risk of being left without heat, and businesses will be forced to raise prices due to the huge costs of energy resources. Read more in the material OBOZREVATEL.
How much does gas cost?
As early as September 16, a cubic meter of gas in Ukraine cost UAH 24.8 per cubic meter, and as of October it has risen in price by almost UAH 14 (data UEB). These are market prices. Business can buy blue fuel at this rate.
In Europe, prices have also broken all records, each cubic meter there costs up to $ 12 (about 32 UAH). And as long as the blue fuel gets to our territory, transportation costs are added and the cost increases.
What has this led to in Ukraine and Europe?
The consequences for Ukrainians have already come, everyone will pay for expensive gas from their own wallet. So:
-
the price of gas for the population for the year has already skyrocketed from 4.2 to 7.9 UAH per cubic meter;
-
gas prices for utilities skyrocketed from about 5 to 13.6 UAH per cubic meter;
-
business will be forced to raise prices due to huge energy prices, inflation is expected to accelerate;
-
city budgets will have to spend billions of hryvnia to compensate for high prices: less money remains for new schools, kindergartens, roads, etc.
“Consumer in Ukraine will not even be able to cover the cost of production… Factories and factories will slowly shut down. And people will be left without work – this is already very serious. Budget revenues will “fall”, expenses will skyrocket … Bankruptcy issue – It’s a question of time“, – explained the chairman of the” Federation of employers of the glass industry “Dmitry Oleinik on the page in Facebook.
The EU is already talking about the coming energy crisis. Due to high prices, France decided to abandon market gas prices, instead opting to introduce restrictions, which are also valid in Ukraine. Besides:
-
in Germany, prices for natural gas have skyrocketed by almost 12% for the population and may increase by another 13%;
-
fertilizer plants are closing in the UK, and only 10 of the 70 energy companies remain;
-
food prices are rising in Europe, interruptions are possible.
Why have gas tariffs skyrocketed?
The author of such an energy crisis is Russia. On the eve of the launch of Nord Stream 2, they actually decided to use their economic weapons. Gazprom limited supplies on the eve of the heating season and refused to order additional capacities in Ukraine.
Thus, as they are confident in Naftogaz, the Russians are trying to force the Europeans to launch Nord Stream 2 and achieve a transition to annual gas contracts, without the participation of exchanges. And despite this behavior of the Kremlin, they are not going to punish her for this at the moment.
As previously wrote OBOZREVATEL, Ukraine faces a serious economic crisis with soaring prices, unemployment and a wave of bankruptcies. The reason is the record gas price, which in Europe exceeded $ 1200… This means that gas for industrialists in Ukraine will rise in price to 39 thousand hryvnia.
