Operations manager in Trøndelag police district Wenche Johansen tells TV 2 that at half past ten they were notified that there had been a gas leak at a laboratory at St. Olav’s hospital in Trondheim.
– There were two people inside the laboratory. One of the people got out, and the other got more gas and fainted. The person in question is now awake, but is nauseous and dizzy, says Johnsen.
Anesthetic gas is often used to anesthetize patients before surgery, and is not flammable.
The police state that the gas can have an anesthetic effect and that people who come into contact with it can fall asleep.
According to the fire service, the message was that two students were dizzy because they breathed in the gas. The two are treated at the emergency room.
