The New York Pizza branch at the Koningshoek shopping center in Maassluis was evacuated on Monday evening after smelling gas. An employee developed health complaints and was checked by an ambulance that arrived on site.
The smell of gas was smelled around 9:40 p.m. and the fire brigade was called. Firefighters took several measurements, but initially could not find any gas leakage. Grid operator Stedin has also carried out measurements. “They have much finer measuring options,” says a spokesperson for the Rotterdam-Rijnmond safety region.
A leak was found at the coupling of a gas pipe. An employee had health problems, possibly as a result of the gas smell, and was checked by an ambulance that arrived on site. Remedial work has been carried out to repair the leak.
