The higher the wholesale prices, the higher the protected prices are. From October exorbitant figures are expected for electricity and gas bills
- Typical household electricity bill 2020: 542 euros
- Electricity bill type 2021: 632 euros
- Electricity bill type 2022: 1,322 euros
From 1 October: reference price for electricity: 66.01 euro cents / KWh including taxes:

- 53.45 euro cents (81%) procurement costs
- 1.91 euro cents (2.9%) retail marketing
- 3.85 euro cents (5.8%) distribution, metering, transport, transmission equalization and distribution services
- 0 euro cents (0%) system charges
- 6.80 euro cents (10.3%) taxes (VAT and excise duties)
And how much will the gas bills reach?
Different speech for the gassince the new calculation method provides that the price for protected customers must be updated at the end of each month on the basis of the average of the actual prices of the Italian wholesale market.
