The American actor Gary Sinise (68) is in mourning after losing his son McCanna. The son was only 33 years old.
Royal death: – Came as a shock
McCanna, or “Mac” as most people called him, passed away on January 5, after being seriously ill with cancer for five and a half years.

“Like any family that experiences such a loss, we are absolutely devastated and are trying to live as best we can. As a parent, losing a child is very difficult. My heart goes out to anyone who has suffered a similar loss, and to anyone who has lost a loved one,” writes Gary in a long statement.
The statement is published on the website to the charity Gary runs, by the name of the “Gary Sinise Foundation”. The son started working for the company in 2017, it appears on the website.

In 2018, the Sinise family was affected by cancer. Gary’s wife, Moira (69), was diagnosed with breast cancer. Shortly afterwards, the son also became ill with cancer.
While Moira recovered after treatment, McCanna was stricken with a more serious and rare type of cancer.
At the age of 33, he died as a result of a malignant tumor in his skeleton, which had also left him paralyzed from the chest down.

“Although our hearts are broken, we find some peace in the fact that ‘Mac’ is no longer in pain. He fought a tough battle against an incurable type of cancer, but he never gave up,” Gary’s statement continues.
“I am so blessed, lucky and proud to be his father.”

Gary Sinise is best known from the series “CSI:NY”, where he played the detective McCanna “Mac” Llewellyn Taylor for several years.
Many will also recognize Gary from the movie “Forrest Gump”, where he played Lieutenant Dan Taylor. He was nominated for an Oscar for that role.
