Tim Garuda Select scored an important win in a test match. Inter Milan U-17 can be bent with a score of 2-1.
Compete at the Sinigaglia Stadium, Como, Italy, Garuda Select can win. Two goals from Rafly Ikram Selang and Givary Lotra Widyanto determined the success of Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto’s team.
The Director of the Garuda Select Development Program, Dennis Wise, praised the performance of the Garuda Select team. He is happy that Garuda Select can beat a strong team like Inter Milan U-17.
“I am very proud of what the players have done, Inter saw that we were able to match AC Milan in the previous match and fielded their best team which now leads the Italian Under-17 standings. However, the children were able to apply a well-prepared pattern of play and managed to achieve maximum results,” said Dennis Wise, in a release received detikSport.
Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, the Como Academy coach who also helps the Garuda Select team, also saw the rapid development of the players he coached. He was impressed by two aspects of the game Garuda Select.
“What is most visible is their fighting spirit, also tactically, what is obtained during training is shown on the field, so it is very difficult for Inter to enter our area. We can get the goals created thanks to a scheme that has been trained beforehand, not just luck !” he said.
“Apart from the two goalscorers, there are two players who also deserve special note, Alexandro Felix Kamuru and Andre Pangestu. From the start of the program they had to be back-up players because they had to compete with two foreign players who filled their positions, but this situation proved to accelerate their development. where they actually learn from foreign players and improve their respective abilities,” added Kurniawan.
Garuda Select defender, Alexandro Felix Kamuru, also admitted that he was happy to gain valuable experience against Inter Milan U-17. He was impressed that he could fight players with a taller and stronger posture.
“I’m very happy to finally have the opportunity to be able to play on the field. An extraordinary experience! The match was running with very high tension, fortunately we were able to appear in a compact manner and achieve victory. The biggest challenge is opponents who have bigger stature, so they have to be much more strong and courageous when serving them,” said Alexandro Felix Kamuru.
The Garuda Select program itself is one of the searches for Indonesian footballers. By combining Indonesian players and foreign talent from world-class academies, it is hoped that this will improve the quality of Indonesian players.
“We are happy to see that this program is like an international student exchange program. Students will not be able to develop optimally, if they only get together with fellow Indonesians, they must open their horizons by seeing how other young players train, maintain discipline and compete with them. The results are increasingly visible that Indonesian players continue to grow to keep pace with their Italian, African and Australian counterparts,” said Mirwan Suwarso, a Mola representative who helped organize the Garuda Select program.
Next Garuda Select will play academy side AC Monza on 24 January and academy Como on 29 January. Only then did Garuda Select return to Loughborough, England.
