Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Former commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Peter F Gontha said that lessors or leasing companies give arbitrary credit to airlines BUMN. Not only that, the rental price aircraft also set very high.
Therefore, according to him, airlines need to negotiate on credits that have already been received. However, the negotiation policy was rejected by the company’s directors.
“I’ve said the only way is to negotiate with foreign lessors who arbitrarily gave credit to Garuda during 2012-2016 which I also oppose. The Board of Directors doesn’t want to hear,” said Peter via uploads on his personal Instagram, Thursday (28). /10).
Garuda, he continued, just accepted the arbitrary treatment of credit. Likewise, the plane rental price is too high.
According to his records, one of the high aircraft rental costs is on a Boeing 777. The rental price received by Garuda reaches US $ 1.4 million per month or equivalent to Rp. 19.84 billion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,172 per US dollar).
In fact, according to him, the average rental price in the market is only US$750 thousand per month or Rp10.62 billion. This means that the price received by Garuda is almost double the market price.
“This is a Boeing 777, the average rental price in the market is US$750 thousand per month. From the first day, Garuda pays double the US$1.4 million per month. Where did the money go when it was signed? Just want to know,” he said.
In addition, he also highlighted the excessive number of aircraft rentals. One of them is the rental of 17 CRJ aircraft.
“This is the wrong Garuda CRJ plane, there are 17 of them. Who told them to buy it? Who is the broker? Now they are unemployed and are being turned over. The loss is millions,” he concluded.
The editor tried to contact Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra and Garuda Indonesia Vice President Corporate Secretary & Investor Relations Mitra Piranti. However, neither of them responded.
