Daily Chairman of the Employees Union Garuda Indonesia Tomy Tampatty urges SOE Minister Erick Thohir to immediately form an investigation team on the alleged misuse of company facilities by the President Director airline BUMN the.
Tomy hopes that Erick can respond to this problem quickly, so as not to make the image of SOEs bad. In addition, it is ready if asked to submit evidence of the allegation.
“If you need evidence, we are ready to hand it over directly to SOE Minister Erick Thohir,” Tomy said when contacted. CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (29/10).
So far, he admits that Erick has not yet responded to the allegations. Therefore, the employee union will visit the office of the Ministry of SOEs, if they still do not get an answer.
If there is still no response, Tomy emphasized that his party will immediately send a letter of complaint directly to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the Palace. This step is considered necessary considering that the President is the superior of the Minister of SOEs.
The union will consider taking legal action as a final measure, if the Minister of SOEs and the President do not respond to this case. However, he hopes that this case can be a lesson for other Garuda directors.
“What we hope is that whoever becomes the director of Garuda must be careful in using the company’s facilities, especially since Garuda’s condition is currently in the spotlight of many people,” he added.
Tomy hopes that an investigation team can be formed soon and can answer all the allegations. He also hopes that Erick Thohir can take firm action against this case like the previous president director.
Previously, the Central Executive Board of the Garuda Indonesia Employee Union (DPPSK) had sent a letter to Erick Thohir regarding this matter. The letter contains allegations of misuse of facilities by Irfan with his wife, children, son-in-law, and two grandchildren to New York, United States.
The flight uses the Jakarta-New York route via Incheon business class with flight number GA878. Irfan should have returned after participating in the activity on October 5, but he just landed in the country on October 16, 2021.
However, Garuda’s board of directors denied the allegation. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Investor Relations Mitra Piranti said Irfan’s trip to New York was mainly done to attend the IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit 2021.
It ensured that Irfan had applied for annual leave to the Ministry of SOEs while in New York.
