Spain forward Usman Garuba contributed to the Houston Rockets this morning as a first option in the rotation in his place despite their (114-131) loss to the Utah Jazz, while Santi Aldama had a rough night with the Memphis Grizzlies and was left scoreless in the victory (115-123) over the Orlando Magic.
Garuba added 4 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in the 15 minutes he enjoyed on the track at the Toyota Center in Houston. It is the eighth consecutive game scored for the Spaniard in a Rockets without too many qualifying goals: last in the West (10-29) and only one victory in the last 12 games.
In the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen led the way with 49 points, 15/27 in field goals, 6/15 in 3-pointers and 7/7 in free throws. Utah is tenth in the fight for promotion to the ‘Play-Offs’, with a balance of 20-21, after five games without a win.
Finally, Aldama had a poor performance, off the bench, in his 12+ minutes of play against the Magic. Already recovered from an ankle injury, he went without scoring for the first time this season, missing all four attempts. However, he was able to add 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Ja Morant (32 points) was once again decisive in a Grizzlies that still leads in the West (25-13) and has a five-game winning streak.
