Thought of one particular of the most dramatic races in NFL heritage, Hearst broke 6 tackles en route to the stop zone when San Francisco beat the New York Jets 36-30 in the 1998 period opener. He concluded the day with 187 yards of managing. . Hearst went on to make his most effective NFL year, jogging 1,570 yards and snatching 39 passes for a further 535 yards. He earned Professional Bowl accolade with the 49ers in 1998 and 2001.
