Having trouble syncing your Garmin watch with Garmin Connect? You’re not alone.

Early Thursday morning, Garmin experienced a major outage in its services, affecting the Garmin Connect mobile apps, the website, and Garmin.com. The outage is also affecting Garmin’s call centers, meaning the company cannot receive calls, emails and online chats.

The company initially said its servers were under maintenance, although he quickly followed that comment with a more widespread service outage warning on Twitter.

What Makes Garmin Connect Offline? ZDNet reports, citing social feeds from unnamed Garmin employees, the outage could be caused by a ransomware attack called WastedLocker. Or ZDNet ni Android Authority can verify this information. We have contacted Garmin for clarification.

It is the house recently posted an allegedly leaked memo shared by Garmin IT staff at its factories in Taiwan announcing scheduled maintenance from Friday July 24 to Saturday July 25. So, we can assume that Garmin Connect will be down until the end of the week.

What can you do while you wait? Stay calm! Most Garmin devices offer gigabytes of storage for past activities. These will probably all sync up without a problem once Garmin Connect is up and running again. If you need your activities uploaded to the cloud as soon as possible, try connecting your Garmin device to your computer, upload the .fit file, and manually upload to another service. Strava makes this process quite transparent.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the Garmin Connect status website for any updates in the next few days or so, and we’ll keep you posted if we hear from Garmin on this.
