Garklava explains why he turned down an offer to work at CNN

CNN (The Cable News Network) was the first channel in the world that offered the concept of news coverage 24 hours a day.

Garklava says: “At the time, someone I knew had sent my work to CNN, and I was offered to try my hand there. I was very aware that it would be a 24-hour job day, because I had to learn deeply about the structures of other countries, the English language, and other dimensions of journalism.

Yes, a great opportunity, but I chose to stay here and I have not regretted it.

Because one – I’m obviously a small screw in a big machine, and the other – that was the time when I was ready for children to enter my life. It is even difficult to describe that state of mind when you feel that the children are here somewhere and this is the time I want to meet them. I’ve been grateful from day one that they chose me as their mother.”

As is known, Kristīne and her husband Mārtiņas Sprogi are the parents of two sons, who are currently 10 and 12 years old.
