Gargždai weightlifters fought successfully – Gargždai

The 32nd international weightlifting tournament “Panevėžys 2022” was held in Panevėžys to celebrate the city’s birthday.

A record number of participants from various corners of Germany, Poland, Spain, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania gathered for this competition. As always, Gargžda’s weightlifters performed well.
Among the girls, Lijana Jakaitė won in the weight category up to 76 kg, and Agneta Dotaitė won the third place in the weight category up to 55 kg. L. Jakaitė became the winner in the absolute standings. She is currently preparing to compete in the World Weightlifting Championships in Colombia in December.
Nojus Brazdeikis won second place among boys in the weight category up to 67 kg, while Nojus Stonys was fourth in the same weight category. The masters team also has good results.
Viktorija Survilienė, Diana Mačiūtė, Kristina Basova, Rima Lisinskaitė won the first places in their weight categories and age groups. Men appeared a little more modest. The second places were won by Robertas Skurdenis, Algirdas Piaulokas, and the third place by Laimutis Daugėla. All these athletes were trained by coach Edvardas Šauklys.
