Premier League side Cardiff City have become shock favorites to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale this summer, according to bookies.
The 32-year-old Welsh winger made his sensational return to the Premier League last season on loan at Tottenham.
Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho claimed in February that Bale “looks happier” than ever, but has since returned to Madrid after his loan expired.
The Welsh international’s current deal does not expire until 2022, but Madrid could push for a sale this summer due to Bale’s astonishing £ 600,000-a-week salary.

Now OddsChecker has discovered that the bookies slashed Cardiff’s odds by taking a sensational plunge to sign Bale this summer.
The Championship club were 16/1 in May to sign the ex-Spurs star, but some bookies have now cut the odds considerably.
Sky Bet have reduced the odds to 5/4 as of this writing, while William Hill has Cardiff signing Bale at 11/8.
A transfer from Bale to any MLS team is currently at 13/2, with a return to Tottenham at 8/1.
David Beckham’s Inter Miami and any Chinese Super League team are at 10/1 and 16/1 respectively, while Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are both at 20/1.
