Gareth Bale Announces His Own Transfer To Los Angeles FC

Jakarta

Gareth Bale has announced his move to Los Angeles FC. The Welsh forward is on a 12-month contract, with an option to extend.

Through his social media, Bale showed himself wearing the LAFC uniform. The way the 32-year-old player’s transfer was announced was similar to the introduction of Giorgio Chiellini, who had just been recruited about two weeks ago.

“See you later, Los Angeles,” Bale tweeted.

Bale arrives on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30. MLS Soccer reports LAFC can register Bale on 7 July, when the MLS transfer window opens.

His arrival will clearly help LAFC to compete for the 2022 MLS title. Currently, they are leading the western region standings with 30 points from 15 matches.

But for Bale, this move also means he can play more often to keep his physical condition fit ahead of the 2022 World Cup. Over the last six months, he has played more with the Wales national team than Madrid.

In fact, the number of matches with the national team is much less than with the club. Bale admitted he was not injured, but still not the first choice, unable to compete with names like Rodrygo and Marco Asensio.

Despite his status as one of the highest-paid players in Europe, Bale is reportedly not going to hold the status of a designated player, a term for a player whose salary is outside the salary cap that has been set by MLS, such as David Beckham.

He is likely to make his debut on July 8, when LAFC face LA Galaxy in the Los Angeles derby titled El Trafico. Happy starting a new life, Bale!
