Jakarta (ANTARA) – Developer and publisher game Garena, officially opened the Garena Game Jam 2023 event to accommodate 100 young developers competing to create game and form a network among other developers.
Country Head of Garena Indonesia, Hans Saleh, said that with Garena Game Jam 2023, participants are expected to be able to exchange ideas, open networks and enrich their experiences.
“Garena Game Jam 2023 is here as a platform that brings together aspects of creativity and innovation for young talents in the Indonesian games industry. “With the spirit of collaboration across stakeholders in this industry, Garena Game Jam 2023 is expected to provide competition experience and opportunities to improve the capabilities of participants as part of the future of the country’s gaming industry,” said Hans at the opening of Garena Game Jam 2023 in Jakarta, Friday.
Young developers from vocational school to university level on the island of Java were given the opportunity for 48 hours to develop a product game newest and original with various game genres.
Apart from competing in Garena Game Jam 2023, participants will also get sessions mentoring directly from the Garena development team. One of the special guests who attended was the Garena development team who built Garena Free Fire, the popular battle royale game made by Garena. Apart from that, participants had the opportunity to discuss with mentors from IGGI.
“We welcome it positively event Garena Game Jam 2023 which provides the opportunity to compete, learn and networking young developers because they are part of the future of the industry game Indonesia. We hope this event is the start of another collaboration with the company game global like Garena in an effort to encourage industrial growth game Indonesia,” said Chairman of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI) Cipto Adiguno.
Garena Game Jam 2023 is a form of Garena’s commitment to the development of the Indonesian games industry ecosystem. This event also collaborates with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) as a form of support from the government to produce young talents in the industrial ecosystem game national.
“We appreciate Garena Game Jam 2023 as a form of collaboration between the government and the private sector to jointly encourage developers to develop their products, through training and competitions.
