Gardouch and its Claude Nougaro school complex have joined the black list of schools at risk of class closure by National Education.
Mobilized to oppose this decision, parents and teachers gathered at the end of last week in the presence of elected officials from Gardouch, represented in particular by the mayor Olivier Guerra and his first deputy in charge of finances, Education and Citizenship Roger Dufour.
During this meeting, Senator Emilienne Poumirol came to provide support to the families affected by this unilateral academic decision of a possible class closure and therefore the elimination of a teaching position for the 2024-2025 school year.
Faced with this risk of endangering the learning of children attending the Gardouch school, a motion against the closure of a class was voted on during a municipal council and the collective of parent delegates launched a online petition on the dedicated website change.org.
