A 17-year-old accused of trespassing in a Cork property and another count of carrying the blade of a slash-hook has been remanded in detention to Oberstown centre in Dublin, according to Cork District Court. When Gardaí sought to charge the teenager on 10 March, he tried to escape by jumping out of the window of his home. Although initially released without charge after his February arrest, he was subsequently arrested for the same charges. A relative helped Gardaí access his residence. The accused’s solicitor accepted the bail objection, but argued in favour of a juvenile. The judge agreed with the objection, stating that the youth would be held in Oberstown and appear in court on the following day.
