The departmental service for youth, commitment and sports (SDJES) has closed a collective reception for minors located within the El Khalil mosque in Nîmes.
The inspection carried out demonstrated that the establishment did not complete the necessary formalities provided for by the texts in force. Indeed, the cultural association of More from Minguewhich manages the reception, is not registered with the Gard prefecture as a reception structure for minors.
In addition, the inspection revealed that the moral and physical health of minors was not ensured. Supervisors did not have the necessary skills to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
The prefect of Gard therefore issued an order to close this school which provides lessons in Arabic and the Koran.
