The young Nîmes native of Alès, won her title with the French women’s team U26 in Veldhoven (Netherlands), where Euro 2022 was taking place.
She discovers bridge at 14
Margaux Kurek-Beaulieu discovered bridge at 14 with her mother. She is studying L2 LLCER Spanish at Vauban (Nîmes) with a view to becoming a teacher of French as a foreign language (teaching French to foreigners in France). She is licensed at the bridge club of Bagnols-sur-Cèze (Gard).
A friendly discipline
The European Women’s Under-26 Vice-Champion defines bridge as: ” Friendly, exciting and allowing for constant progress ».
Bridge opens up another sphere for me than studies to meet very interesting people with whom we have bridge in common. Without bridge we might never have spoken to them.
Margaux evolves in female U26 (under 26), her partner since September 2021, Clara Boutona Parisian player.
Blues at the top
It is a feat for the French delegation which wins 3 medals : gold for juniors, silver for women’s U26 and U21. Out of 5 teams entered, 4 are qualified for the next Worlds in 2023. 7 days of intense competition, more than 15,900 cards played and memorized by each of the participants to overcome opponents just as motivated as the Dutch, at home, the formidable Poles or the Italian ogre… Real performances!
