Employees in leading positions have acted disloyally towards the company and put it in a very serious financial situation. As a result, the company is now forced into bankruptcy.
The background is that Gärahovs Bygg AB’s board commissioned an in-depth internal audit. It has thus emerged that employees in senior positions have acted disloyally towards the company through irregularities over a long period of time and with respect to significant amounts have put the company in a very serious financial situation.
This action has taken place without information being provided to the board and without the knowledge of the board and principal owner, as well as in a way that, according to the review now carried out, is deemed to include criminal action.
What has emerged will be reported to the police for a full review and search. As a further consequence of this, three employees have also been dismissed and with immediate effect had to leave their positions in the company.
Gärahovs Bygg has on several occasions received new capital to save the company where the decisions for capital additions were made on incorrect grounds. As recently as this week, negotiations were conducted with the help of experienced advisers with the aim of finding a solution to be able to save the company, approximately 120 jobs, subcontractors and customers.
– It is with great disappointment that we unfortunately have to state that the company no longer has a future. Although we have good profitability in the short term, it is not enough. I feel something enormous for everyone who is affected because of the company’s past, says CEO Anders Svensson in a comment.
Gärahovs Bygg is part of the APP group and in January this year merged with APP Properties, also part of the group.
