The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, suddenly changed his appearance. He shaved off his trademark white hair. Now, the head of the number one person in Central Java is bald bald!

The shaving action is a form of support for children fighting cancer while celebrating World Children’s Cancer Day. Not only bald, the action is also for fundraising.

From Ganjar’s bald act, at least Rp 70 million has been collected. Not only Ganjar, a number of officials including the Head of Semarang Police and Dandim 0733 Semarang also shaved bald.

“It’s been quite a bit already collected, maybe today Rp 70-80 million can be. Hopefully it will also be able to help because indeed the children need help,” said Ganjar in his statement, Monday (28/2/2022).

“So if the hair can grow again, whatever you want to cut, it can grow again. But in my opinion, building empathy and solidarity is important,” he added.

The fundraising event was held at Paragon Mall, Semarang City. Many people came to donate their money and join the shave. While Ganjar participated from his official residence, he took part in online events.

At the location, there was also a woman with shoulder-length hair who was desperate to shave off her hair. She is Asrida Ulinuha (42) who is moved to empathize with children with cancer. In fact, the act of shaving his baldness brought in a donation of around Rp. 25 million.

“If it can be useful for others, why not. Hair can grow again. At first, when you were challenged, you were bald, whether you wanted to or not, when you were offered an initial Rp. 5 million (for a donation) I said Rp. 10 million, it turned out to be Rp. 25 million. That was from several people. ,” said Ulin.

The cafe owner doesn’t have a problem with his shoulder-length hair which is now cut. In fact, he hopes that support actions like this can continue to exist and provide benefits.

“This is an act of solidarity, hopefully it can continue,” he explained.

The Head of Semarang Polrestabes Kombes Irwan Anwar and Dandim 0733 Semarang Lieutenant Colonel Inf Honi Havana came together and then immediately sat in the participant’s chair and joined the #bravebeard movement. They both had their hair shaved.

“It’s like hair will grow again, that’s our hope for children to continue to grow healthy,” said Irwan after shaving.

From the actions of the Kapolrestabes and the Dandim, around Rp. 80 million was collected. “Thank you to those who have donated. The information from the committee was already Rp. 80 million on behalf of me and Pak Dandim,” explained Irwan.

The head of the Indonesian Cancer Children’s Love Foundation (YKAKI) Semarang branch, Vita Mahaswari, said that on average the children who were helped were aged 0-18 years. The foundation helps the various needs of children with cancer.

“The YKAKI Foundation facilitates cancer children and their companions, transportation, home accommodation, patients living with their parents and companions, also provides treatment that is not covered by BPJS, and helps problems that arise while the child is undergoing treatment. Such as housing and medicines that are not covered by BPJS. , daily life of patients and parents, companions,” explained Vita.

He was very grateful that the #beranigundul activity was of great interest to many people, even the Governor of Central Java participated. Vita also expressed her gratitude to the figure Harjanto Halim who was keen to invite other figures and socialize through social media.
