Jakarta –
Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo again echoing the one poor family one bachelor program. However, Ganjar views that there is something more important than just a bachelor’s degree, namely character.
This was conveyed by Ganjar when attending the ‘Kendal Ganjar People’s Party’ event at the Sambong Sari Village Field, Weleri, Kendal, Central Java, Tuesday (23/1/2024) afternoon. The event was attended by volunteers and young people.
Ganjar explained that the one poor family, one graduate program was a form of developing a work program when he served as Governor of Central Java.
“When I was still Governor of Central Java, we created Central Java Vocational Schools for the poor and went straight to work. Later we will add, if there are poor families, there are children who can afford to go to high school, we will send one poor family to one graduate school. Are you ready?” asked Ganjar at the event.
Even so, Ganjar believes that being a graduate is not enough if you don’t have good manners, especially towards your parents. Therefore, Ganjar hopes that if in the future young people are successful in obtaining a bachelor’s degree, they will not forget their parents.
“But ladies and gentlemen, a bachelor’s degree isn’t enough. You have to have good manners, you have to be attentive, remember your mother, remember your parents. So if you are successful, your parents will help you,” he said.
On the other hand, Ganjar views that the government must ensure that direct cash assistance (BLT) is distributed on target. That way, people’s welfare can be guaranteed.
“So for the poor, they are helped by BLT, get PKH, get health insurance including education when they graduate from school, go back to their families, their families will be prosperous. OK? This is important. So we are giving this simple program so that they will be better off,” he explained.
“But ladies and gentlemen, it can’t work if we don’t win. If we win, Ganjar-Mahfud will bring this program for us to implement. My question is, do you think Kendal will win or not?” he added.
