Synopsis
Prohibited for children under 12
In 1846, the district of Five Pointsa poor suburb of New York, is the scene of a gang war between Irish emigrants on one side, the Dead Rabbits led by Père Vallon, and the Native Americans on the other, led by the bloodthirsty Bill the Butcher. The latter quickly routs the Dead Rabbits by assassinating their leader, and at the same time takes exclusive control of the streets of the “Big Apple”. In order to strengthen his powers, Bill allies himself with Boss Tweed, an influential politician.
Sixteen years later, the gang of Native Americans still reigns supreme in New York. As an adult, Amsterdam Vallon wishes to avenge the death of his father by eliminating Bill. But his meeting with Jenny Everdeane, an enigmatic pickpocket whose independence and beauty fascinate him, will complicate things…
