The wind is strong enough to stagger and the waves crash behind me.

The damage caused by the typhoon has not yet been counted, but the news of the search for the missing has just arrived.

About 10:00, two hours ago, a report was received that a person in his forties had gone missing in Mangsang Beach, in the East Sea, and the Coast Guard started a search.

The waves were high and the stream was blocked.

As a storm warning was issued due to a typhoon, passenger ship operations at Gangneung Port were suspended today, and passenger ship Ulleungdo departing from Mukho Port in the East Sea is also blocked.

Although it didn’t rain much on Gangwon’s east coast, it was under the influence of the typhoon until the afternoon and it was predicted that 5 to 40 mm of rain would fall in the future.

The accumulated rainfall since yesterday was 107 mm in Seoraksan Mountain, 83 in Samcheok Dogye, 80 in Wangsan in Gangneung and 56 mm in Yangyang.

In the mountainous areas of Gangwon and the plains of six cities and counties along the east coast, strong winds blow with an instantaneous maximum speed of 15 to 25 meters per second, depending on where a strong wind warning has been issued.

All trails to Taebaeksan National Park are vetted.

In addition, some trains, such as the Gangneung-Donghae section of the Yeongdong line and the Donghae-Cheongnyangni section of the Taebaek line, have been suspended or modified.

A wind warning has been issued in the central part of the East Sea and very high waves of up to 10 meters are rising, so about 2,800 fishing boats on the east coast of Gangwon have been evacuated.

Furthermore, there is the possibility that the tide could cross the breakwater or the coastal road, so it is necessary to refrain from approaching the surrounding area and pay attention to flooding or damage to the plants.

Until now, this is MBC News’ Park Eun-ji in Gangneung Port.
