Hundreds of semi-permanent buildings that were suspected to be places of prostitution were demolished by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. These illegal buildings were demolished because they don’t have permission.
Previously, the police uncovered prostitution in Gang Royal, North Jakarta. This case was revealed after a report of a missing ABG.

Gang Royal Demolished Without Relocation
There were 156 illegal buildings in the Gang Royal RW 13 Penjaringan area which were controlled on Wednesday (20/9/2023). The enforcement involved joint officers from Satpol PP, police, TNI, PT KAI, PT PLN, and Penjaringan District PPSU.
Head of Satpol PP Arifin said DKI Jakarta Provincial Government not relocating affected residents.
“We are not preparing for relocation because the building is a business premises in the form of a cafe that provides entertainers. Then it is categorized as an area with a high crime rate,” said Arifin as seen on the DKI Provincial Government website, Wednesday (20/9/2023).
He said the control was carried out because the buildings in the area did not have permits and violated Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order. Apart from that, this location is indicated to be a place for prostitution practices.
Arifin said that after this control, his party would carry out monitoring so that no more illegal buildings would be built on the land which is also a train track.
Will be changed to RTH
He said the DKI Provincial Government would coordinate with PT KAI so that it could utilize the approximately 3,000 square meter area as green open space (RTH).
“If you want to make a green open space, yes, together we will make a green open space by planting trees,” he said.
Head of the Civil Servant Investigation and Enforcement Section of the North Jakarta Satpol PP, Purnama, said that his party is targeting the demolition to be completed in the next day or two. As of this afternoon, demolition had been carried out on 156 illegal buildings.
“The number could still increase. We are currently conducting a sweep for demolition,” said Purnama.
