GAMITANA GRANDE AT 10 SOLES KG SOLD OUT AT MDSJB’S OLYMPIC VILLA SABATINA FAIR

Last Saturday like every weekend since September of last year when the municipality of San Juan Bautista opened it, the Saturday Fair of the Olympic Village is visited by hundreds of people who come from 6 in the morning because they find fresh products and comfortable within reach of the pocket. –

On this occasion, the PROCREPA Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Credit and Extension Program of the Regional Directorate of Production DIREPRO, in agreement with the MDSJB, presented 1/2 ton of fresh gamitana fish from the fish farm of the entrepreneur Enith Villanueva from Km 52 to Nauta. The good-sized gamitanas were so welcomed that in 1 hour and a half there was no longer a single kilo, it had been exhausted due to the great demand of the population that is just waiting for the weekend, to go to buy the products on sale in the only itinerant market of San Juan Bautista.-

The aquaculture technician Ritert Nuve Tuesta, from Direpro, who provides technical assistance to Loreto fish farmers, indicated that the work of this direction, regarding the aquaculture issue, is to guide and accompany the producers in the harvest, transfer and commercialization of the fish at the Fair of the Olympic Village “we are with them from the construction, improvement and preparation of the ponds, which has to do with liming, fertilization, disinfection of fungi, bacteria and parasites, regulation of the PH that sees the level of acidity and alkalinity of water; then we move on to sowing fish that grow in optimal space and the gamitana, tarpon and boquichico fingerlings are fit for human consumption in an average of 10 months. For this reason, we guarantee the quality of the aquaculture product that is sold in this Fair of the Olympic Village, with technical assistance in cultivation, breeding with balanced feeds and biometric sampling to readjust the feeding rate. This arrival to the public would not be possible without an agreement with the municipality of San Juan Bautista that makes it easier for all aquaculturists in the area to present their product, ”said Tec. Ritert Nuve.-

Also present was the National Program “To Eat Fish” of the Ministry of Production, which presented semi-fresh salted paiche fish from the Putumayo river and also palometas, sardines and boquichicos: paiche at 20 soles, palometas at 14 soles, sardines at 9 soles and boquichicos at 8 soles per kilo; artisanal fishing products.

Meanwhile, there was great demand for bananas from the area of Miguel Grau at the Marañón, Ucayali and Amazonas confluence, which arrived via the San Joaquín de Omaguas highway with the same farmers who, due to their very low prices, quickly sold out. There was no shortage of everyday vendors and entrepreneurs in this traveling market that lend a colorful and diverse appeal to the Olympic village.
