Gamers wanted: Test for a chance to win the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless – Gaming – .Plans

SteelSeries is a well-known name among gamers. The Danish gaming hardware manufacturer has been around for 21 years; a period when the SteelSeries Arctis 5 and 7 found their way into many a gaming setup. For the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, the makers are completely changing things up, both in terms of looks and functionalities. Tweakers Partners and SteelSeries are organizing a test panel for this new wireless headset, which has only just been launched on the market. We are looking for five testers who want to try out the headphones. Register quickly via the poll at the bottom of this article and have a chance to test and keep one of the five copies of the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless!

Of Arctis Nova Pro Features a metal/plastic chassis with leatherette ear cups and an adjustable headband. It is a so-called 4-point ComfortMAX system from SteelSeries, which means that the headset has height-adjustable and rotating ear cups, a flexible tension band and rotatable hangers. In principle, everyone should be able to find a good fit. The left earcup has a power button, microphone mute, volume rocker, retractable microphone, 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C charging port. The right earcup has a bluetooth button and a battery pack slot. The battery lasts about 22 hours. In case that’s not long enough, the headset has a second battery pack that you can swap out quickly. If for some reason one of the batteries ever breaks, you can easily replace it and you don’t have to immediately write off the entire headset.

Spatial sound while gaming, active noise cancellation

The headset features a Nova Pro Acoustic System with premium high fidelity drivers. It supports 360° Spatial Audio, complemented by SteelSeries proprietary Sonar software. Sonar allows you to tune specific sound frequencies. Want to know exactly where the sound of opponents’ footsteps comes from, or push a teammate away because he’s screaming all the time? With Sonar you can, provided you play on a PC. You can dive pretty deep into the software, even though it’s currently still in beta.

The headset is also compatible with Tempest 3D audio (PlayStation 5) and Microsoft Spatial Sound (PC only) to achieve a spacious feeling during gaming. In addition, active noise cancellation (anc) should ensure that you are even more immersed in your virtual adventures, without being disturbed by outside noises. The advanced 4-mic hybrid system ensures that outside noise cannot be heard, while microphones in the ear cups must balance the sound you are listening to to achieve optimal clear results. Would you like to quickly pick up on what is happening in your area? With the push of a button, you can switch on the transparency mode and determine how much ambient noise you allow.

You can put it on

In addition to the headset, which promises a solid, layered sound, the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless comes with an additional little black gadget: the high-fidelity digital-to-analog converter (dac). It is a 4.5-inch device with a rounded side, a rotary knob, two regular buttons and a battery charger. On the back are two USB-C ports, a line-in 3.5mm audio jack and a line-out 3.5mm audio jack.

The dac has a black and white OLED screen that displays the battery level of your headset and the volume. You connect your PC or game console to the dac via a USB-C cable, after which the dac transmits the audio signal to the headset. You can switch audio inputs, initiate a USB or Bluetooth pairing, adjust microphone options, and route the audio to speakers. You adjust equalizer settings directly on the dac, where you can choose from a handful of presets or select one of your homemade presets.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless works with a PC, PlayStation, Switch and other devices. There also is a productvariant available that is compatible with an Xbox. If desired, you can switch between two devices at the touch of a button. In addition, you have the option of mixing two audio connections at the same time. For example, you can communicate with friends via your smartphone while you are gaming on a PC or console.
