Game TV: LG first with 120 Hz in 4K

LG is known for good TVs for gamers. Now LG announces that they are the first with TVs that support Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120 Hz.

Proud to be first

With user-friendly controls, LG’s premium TVs are ready to deliver sublime next-generation gaming experiences. This is the result of our commitment to give players the best experience on the big screen, “writes LG from Seoul in a press release – and they seem quite proud of what they have achieved.

Firmware version 03.15.27, which is now being rolled out, makes LG’s C1 and G1 series OLED TVs the first in the world to support Dolby Vision® HDR at 4K 120 Hz. Additional TV models in LG’s 2021 collection such as the OLED Z1 series, QNED Mini LED QNED99 series and NanoCell NANO99 series will receive the update in July. Other 2021 and 2020 models are also being tested for Dolby Vision games in 60 or 120 Hz.

The firmware introduces the Game Dashboard, a new feature that will be available on all LG’s 2021 TVs equipped with the Game Optimizer. There is a floating on-screen menu similar to the head-up display (HUD) in many games. The feature allows users to quickly switch between Standard, FPS, RPG or RTS – without interrupting the action. The dashboard also shows which modes are activated. Game Optimizer can be started directly from the Game Dashboard.

LG’s OLED TVs are recognized for being among the best gaming TVs and always end up in the top tier in tests.
