Indira Varma, known as Ellaria Sand from Game Of Thrones, has landed a role on the highly anticipated Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series that will air on Disney +. Shooting will start soon.
Probably no other of the upcoming “Star Wars” series are waiting for so many fans as eagerly as they are for “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi”, in which Ewan McGregor will finally play the popular Jedi again after he last played the role in “Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Sith ”(2005).

After many years in which McGregor publicly denied knowing anything about a new Kenobi project and after the filming of the series was postponed on Disney +, the cameras should actually be turned on soon. Hayden Christensen will also return (although it is not yet entirely clear whether we will see his Anakin in flashbacks or Christensen is under the Vader mask all the time).
And loud Deadline Indira Varma has now been engaged for a role in “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi”, but no details have been published so far.

Most of our readers will know Indira Varma from “Game Of Thrones”, where her character Ellaria Sand was the lover of Oberyn Martell (Oberyn actor Pedro Pascal has also moved from Westeros to the “Star Wars” galaxy, as the main character of “The Mandalorian” In the “GoT” seasons 5-7, Varma was one of the main cast of the popular fantasy series.

Not much is known about the plot of the “Obi-Wan” series. It takes place eight years after “Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Sith” when the Empire has consolidated its hold over the galaxy and the rebellion is still small. Few Jedi survived – and when they do, they are hunted down by Darth Vader and his lackeys. Obi-Wan watches over little Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, but he is guaranteed not to spend the whole series on that dreary lump of sand …
