Game of Thrones Cast Members Reflect on Disappointing Ending of the Show

Even those actors who were involved in Game of Thrones from beginning to end, believe that the ending did not live up to it.

We know that the end of Game of Thrones was not exactly the outcome that many had expected and it seems that you are not alone in that feeling. From fans to cast members, the past few seasons have left more than one feeling that things have been rushed.

It’s no secret that the final seasons felt like a race to the finish line. While Game of Thrones has always been known for its intricate plot and leisurely pace, the last few chapters seemed to have forgotten that magic formula. And not only the viewers noticed it, the actors themselves felt it too!

This is how they explain it from within.

the talented actor Conleth Hill, who has played the conniving Lord Varys since the first season, shared his frustration during an interview. Hill confessed that the last two seasons did not live up to his expectations. He felt that his character was not treated with the depth that he deserved and that the changes in the final pacing negatively affected the evolution of Varys.

“I thought I had done something wrong. Until the last two seasons, I had no complaints. I was frustrated with the last couple because Varys wasn’t the all-knowing character that he had been. I think the writers wanted to do one thing to end it and the HBO studio wanted to do another. I felt that the series was a bit rushed. I was heartbroken, but now I’m fine.”. Revealed in The Times.

The saga continues.

However, while Game of Thrones may have controversially concluded, the franchise continues to expand. House of the Dragon, the long-awaited prequel, has been a smashing success, drawing audiences and gaining critical acclaim. With this series, HBO is passing the torch to a new era of the saga.

House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy shared her experience, revealing that she even had the opportunity to speak with the iconic Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen in the original series. It looks like Clarke gave her some advice on embodying the character of her, Rhaenyra Targaryen, and D’Arcy is more than grateful for it.

“I spoke to Emilia Clarke before we started filming, and she was beautiful and very generous. She told me a lot of things that, honestly, I’m going to keep. I am also very lucky. That wig is a blessing, people don’t recognize me, so my day-to-day life is practically unchanged, for which I feel very grateful, especially since, and perhaps this is also a question, I feel that the ability to observe others and not being watched is fundamentally important to our work.”

Although Game of Thrones may have come to an end in terms of plot, the world of Westeros continues to expand with new stories and characters. And who knows, maybe these new adventures can ease the wounds of the fans who were left with a bittersweet taste after the last season. The journey continues in this epic fantasy world!
