We end this selection with the documentary At the origins of civilization at 8:50 p.m. on Arte. From the fertile plains of Iraq to the green hills of Turkey, hunter-gatherers settled down in the past and then regrouped until they gave birth to the first cities. These cities have gradually become the crucible of many inventions but have also fostered constant innovations. According to current knowledge, the long process of the appearance of cities began in particular in Anatolia. On the site of Göbekli Tepe, archaeologists were able to explain the presence of particularly well-preserved remains. Huge engraved pillars were erected there 20,000 years ago.
