Game of power: Does one Karakachanov support Bokova? Where are Radev, Doncheva, Ninova, Parvanov? – 2024-09-24 14:54:28

/ world today news/ Deafening silence of party leaders and presidential candidates regarding the scandal with the attempts to replace the Bulgarian candidate for UN Secretary General.

We can forgive them for forgetting that today is the 15th anniversary of the fateful September 11, 2001.

VLASTIUTKA. I first encountered this word today on Facebook after a friend shared a status of Kin Stoyanov on his page in which he used it.

One word, a, says so much about our political reality today, where the majority of politicians are obsessed with power, and the decent ones who hold onto ideas and still show political hygiene are considered crazy.

That’s why I chose it for the new column “Game of Powers”, in which I will comment on the presidential elections, especially since today gave a concrete reason for the opening of this column.

An occasion that Kim Stoyanov also commented on in his Facebook post:

“If Kristalina Georgieva could do something else than her skills to get laid and organize corridor intrigues for the sake of her own career development, she should have entered the competition at the very beginning – against Irina Bokova.
And then Bokova’s opponents would sigh: the “democrat” against the bastard of the communist family.
But Kristalina Georgieva is not in the habit of fighting a fair battle. A typical representative of GERD.
The children of the servants of the communist nomenclature will screw the descendants of the nomenclature again.
But all the anti-Bokovian pathos now seems to be not provoked by principled positions, but at the service of yet another official.

Yes, that’s what it’s all about – the scandal of the day on September 11, 2016.

Today, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had been persuading Russian President Vladimir Putin to support Kristalina Georgieva as a candidate for UN Secretary General.

A scandalous admission, because Georgieva’s game against Bokova has been suspected for months, the Bulgarian media wrote that the government is considering elevating the current European Commissioner in the coming days, but until today this was in the realm of speculation and without evidence.

Therefore, the announcements of the official Russian authorities blew up the Bulgarian society and throughout the Sunday it was widely covered in the media, it became the most commented topic in social networks, but which, strangely why, remained out of sight of party leaders and presidential candidates.

GERB’s silence is understandable – Kritalina Georgieva is their person.

The silence of the Reform Bloc – also, because the dirty denunciations against the Bulgarian candidate Irina Bokova came out from among them, theirs is also Foreign Minister Mitov, who competes with Plevneliev with anti-Bulgarian behavior.

But why are the chairperson of BSP Cornelia Ninova and the candidate for president, general from the reserve Rumen Radev, silent? Why is Georgi Parvanov silent? Why is Tatiana Doncheva, who is already an official candidate for president, silent?

Why is there no official position from their side when the candidacy of Irina Bokova, the most successful Bulgarian on the world political stage, is under threat? Or is it not in Bulgaria’s interest for our compatriot to head the United Nations?

Isn’t the attempt of a foreign head of state to influence the Bulgarian election an arrogant interference in our affairs and isn’t this a sufficient reason to defend Bulgarian sovereignty against this encroachment?

Is this inadequacy coincidental, or is there something deeper behind it?

Or it is Ninova, Radev, Parvanov, and Doncheva

so possessed by their own personas

and a false sense of importance,

that they only care about their own self-interest,

related to the presidential election, but not

with the interests of Bulgaria in this particular case?

Ninova and Radev went to the meeting of the Russophiles of Koprinka, from where they produced the following “news”, according to the emphasis of their own press center, and not a word about the scandal:

“Rumen Radev: The age-old friendship between the Bulgarian and Russian people will survive every political winter”

“Cornelia Ninova: No one can eradicate the fraternal feelings of Bulgarians towards Russia

And the news from Stara Zagora from Sunday evening: “Rumen Radev: People have enormous energy and charge for change, we must activate them”

It’s good that they want to activate us, but who will activate them? Is this how Radev and Doncheva will defend Bulgarian sovereignty if one of them becomes president – with silence, as on this particular occasion? Or waiting for Monday to come because today is Sunday?

In this silence, the only adequate party leader and presidential candidate turned out to be Krasimir Karakachanov, who today was categorical:

“Kristalina is bothering Bokova. The post in the EC is not enough for her, she wants to burn the world!”

And more from his assessment of what is happening: “Kristalina Georgieva’s ambitions are skillfully used by Germany, that is a fact. The mood in the UN is to elect a woman from Eastern Europe as Secretary General. Some of those who are now promoting the idea that Bokova should be replaced with another candidate say that she is either third or fifth in three to four votes. However, she is the only woman from Eastern Europe who has qualified. There is also something else that is not explained to the Bulgarian society. In such international competitions, the first votes do not matter at all. Because in the end it is enough for one of the permanent members of the Security Council to impose a veto and end it. We are currently witnessing the heat of the race and to withdraw our candidacy now would be a fundamental mistake.”

Note: Until 21:00 on September 11, 2016, there was no official reaction from the cited politicians either from their press centers or on their personal Facebook pages
