The game is completely on the cart. Now that Bayern Munich has made a second offer to Ajax for Sergiño Dest, FC Barcelona has also officially reported to the Amsterdam club.
That reports The Telegraph. The Spanish superpower hopes to steal Dest from Bayern’s nose. Barcelona wants to talk to Ajax to see if a transfer is feasible. The financial situation of the Spanish club is not optimal: it has to be sold before new players can be brought to Camp Nou.
Bayern reportedly still has the best credentials in the battle for Dest’s signature. Barcelona is bound by strict rules due to a financial support package: all Spanish clubs were financially helped by the Spanish state this summer, but therefore have to keep an eye on the money. Barça may only complete a transfer if there is one hundred percent extra income in return.
At Ajax no one expects Dest to stay in Amsterdam anymore. At his own request, the right back has already sat on the bench in recent games, to take as few risks as possible with a view to an upcoming transfer. It is expected that an agreement on the transfer fee will be reached this week. Bayern still seems to be Dest’s next destination, although Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman hopes that the defender will make the switch to Spain.
Barcelona is still in the race for Memphis Depay, but the Orange striker experiences the same as Dest. It remains to be seen until the transfer of Barcelona defender Nélson Semedo to Wolverhampton Wanderers is completed, before Barça can become active on the transfer market.
