Game developer and one of the two creators of the oceanic horror and thalassophobia simulator Full Fathom, recently shared an update on the upcoming Unity game, showing off the finalized version of the depth effect system.
According to the developer, the finished system turned out exactly as planned – a rare occurrence in the unpredictable world of game development. While the final tweaks and fixes implemented in the system may not have caught the attention of many players, the developer noted that they were necessary to enhance the realistic, eerie feeling of the ocean, as well as for the developer’s “own mental well-being.”
In addition to showing off the demo itself, the developer also revealed that Full Fathom’s main story is about 30% complete, with the focus shifting to creating new underwater locations and regions. Despite ongoing work, the game’s release date remains unchanged, with the team planning to release the project in the third quarter of 2024.
You can add Full Fathom to your Steam wishlist.
