After Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice last year, The Last of Us 2’s turn to triumph at Games Awards. The game of Naughty Dog has even grown to win most of the prizes.

Best action / adventure game, best direction, best narrative, best performance for Laura Bailey who plays Abby, best audio design, best accessibility innovation and so on, The Last of Us Par 2 has won almost all the awards given during of this evening. To its competitors, it leaves Final Fantasy VII remake the title of best RPG and the best music. Hades was crowned Best Action Game and Best Indie, Flight Simulator won Best Simulation, Half-Life: Alyx Best Virtual Reality Game, while the Artistic Direction Award went to Ghost of Tsushima. Sacred evening therefore for Naughty Dog, but also for Sony which sees two of its exclusives triumph, not to mention Final Fantasy released as a temporary exclusivity on PlayStation. All the other games left empty-handed, including the excellent Doom Eternal or Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, yet much deeper and more complex than The Last of Us Part 2.
