After a raid on the sports betting provider, the gambling authority revoked the company’s license and more than 350 betting shops had to close. The preliminary insolvency administrator has now filed a lawsuit against the withdrawal.
At first glance, everything looks the same as always. Passers-by rush towards the end of the day, past Arabic snack bars, barber shops and, above all, betting shops. Five of these parlors alone are crowded into the narrowest of spaces in Munich’s Bahnhofsviertel district, they all want to earn a living from the billion-euro sports betting market. There is a lot of activity in front of the betting shops, cigarettes are smoldering, only in front of the shop with the bright green Tipster logo is it quiet. Nobody has come here for a few days. The doors are firmly locked, the lights are out. There’s bird shit stuck to the facade that nobody can get rid of anymore.
