According to The Telegraph, some players and representatives of the Gambia team delegation lost consciousness on the plane. The cause of this terrible event was the heat and lack of oxygen in the aircraft cabin. Some players experienced severe headaches and dizziness. And just 9 minutes after the start of the flight, the plane made an emergency landing.
“We all could have died. Everyone quickly fell asleep. I had short dreams about how my life turned out. After 9 minutes the pilot decided to return because there was no oxygen supply. Some players did not wake up immediately after landing. We almost got carbon monoxide poisoning. Another half hour of flight and we would all be dead,” said head coach Tom Saintfit.
