Gálvez at ITAM: “in my alliance there are unpresentable”

At the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), where she presented her proposals to students of this university, Xóchitl Gálvez, presidential candidate of the PAN-PRI-PRD coalition, was criticized by the students for the lack of ideological coherence in the alliance that drives it, for the unmentionable characters in front of those parties and because they have not always been in favor of human rights, women’s rights and the LGBT+ community.

After the majority of the questions (five out of nine that were asked) were critical of the parties that nominated her and the proposals she has made, the Hidalgo native repeatedly sought to distance herself from those political forces and argued that In all parties there are unmentionablesdefended that she voted against the position that the PAN had on several issues in the Senate and spoke out in favor of prohibiting conversion therapies, as well as protecting women who decide to have an abortion.

Gálvez went to the auditorium of this educational institute accompanied by several members of the PAN, of whom she highlighted that they are graduates or were professors of ITAM, like its coordinator, Santiago Creel.

However, from the beginning of his message he tried to distance himself. I am here as a result of a citizen demand from political parties, I have never been a member of onesaid the standard bearer of the Fuerza y ​​Corazón por México coalition. Later, she added that she is a candidate who the citizens put it, the citizens are the ones who forced the parties to open themselves to this possibility.

When referring to the government of Vicente Fox, of which she was a part, she revealed that she did not vote for the man from Guanajuato, but for Gilberto Rincón Gallardo, and when Fox invited her to his cabinet she refused to be Secretary of State.

He also stated that the National Guard does make legitimate use of force. I’m not saying that I should shoot anyone, no one is asking for that, but when necessary, the State is the only one that has that legitimate use and has to use it to defend the population in cases like that of the candidate in Celaya..

After their participation, the students asked their questions. One of the things that concerns us most is the issue of rights and freedoms, mainly for women, (they are) the achievements that we have achieved throughout history and we know that some parties that accompany it have not always been in favor of them, also the rights for the LGBT+ communitythey expressed to Gálvez.

Another student told him: As a woman, one of my main concerns is not only going out alone, but that there may be a setback in the right to decide about my body.. And one more stated that It is known that the coalition has no ideological coherence.

Offers to recover lagoon

Later, in the state of Mexico, the candidate made the commitment to install wastewater treatment plants in the extinct Laguna de Zumpango, to fill the reservoir again with treated water, enough to promote tourism and irrigation of agricultural fields in the region.

On top of the bed of a truck, the candidate toured the edge of the reservoir together with the former director of the National Water Commission José Luis Luege Tamargo. She later held a meeting with neighbors and representatives of towns and colonies in the region.
