The Minister of Education Prof. Galin Tsokov congratulated the beginning of the school year to the directors of educational institutions, teachers and pedagogical specialists, first graders and students, as well as to their parents.
Here are the words the minister said on the occasion of the first day of school:
“Happy first day of school!
Today, more than 2,000 schools across the country solemnly open their doors to give the most valuable thing to our children – knowledge. That is why today is always perceived as a holiday. A holiday of enlightenment! In the Bulgarian school, our children accumulate not only knowledge. In it they are built as individuals. And the most important task before the education system is actually to teach them to be good people.
A mission that generations of Bulgarian educators carry out with dedication and self-denial.
Therefore, today, at the beginning of the new school year, I am addressing all of you – teachers and educators.
Be proud of your work, preserve the traditions of Bulgarian education and constantly update it by taking the best of the past and the future! Teach our children to love their country and know the world around them! Only then will they be able to subdue him!
Dear Parents,
Love your children and support them. And trust your teachers – they are your most loyal ally on the path of your child’s growth!
Dear students and you, dear first graders,
Dream, create friendships and always be driven by curiosity! Do not forget for a moment that the school is a place where you will always receive support and understanding!
Dear pedagogical specialists in kindergartens and nurseries,
You lay the foundation without which any subsequent success in school and higher education would be impossible. Thank you for the care and attention you give to the children of Bulgaria!
Last but not least, happy new school year to the Bulgarian Sunday schools abroad. Those who, through knowledge, make thousands of children dream and keep the memory of their homeland. A tribute to the work of the hundreds of patriots who protect and develop these Bulgarian schools, scattered in 43 countries on 6 continents. Today we celebrate together because Bulgaria is everywhere where at least one Bulgarian heart beats!”
