Rueda advances that the purchase of conventional vaccines is being tendered for 2.8 million and that intranasal vaccines for children will be purchased

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, March 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Immunocompromised patients will be added to these groups next fall, as announced by the Galician president, Alfonso Rueda, in his appearance after the weekly meeting of the Xunta Council.

These “reinforced” vaccines have added protection compared to conventional flu vaccines, which are the ones given to the rest of the population. In conclusion, Alfonso Rueda has claimed that Galicia reinforces with these purchases “its reference position” in this field. In total, this 2024 Sanidade dedicates almost 40 million euros to the Galician vaccination program.

FIGHT AGAINST LEUKEMIA

Also in a health key, the president has announced the renewal of the collaboration agreement of the Xunta with the Josep Carreras Foundation, for 894,000 euros, for the fight against leukemia.

The objective of this agreement is to make it easier for patients who need a bone marrow transplant and do not have a compatible family member to locate a donor. In 2023, 249 transplants of this type were performed in Galicia, a figure that rises to 4,257 performed since 1993.
