Galicia continues to advance apace towards the new normal. Monday, the four provinces of the community will advance to phase 2. Galicians can stroll at any time of the day, go to shopping centers or eat inside restaurants, among other novelties.
At the end of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, held this Friday, the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, announced that A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra and Ourense go to phase 2, starting Monday, a decision made by the experts of the Center for the Coordination of Health Alerts, and after the contacts between the department headed by Salvador Illa and the Department of Health.
The president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, was “optimistic” in an interview in Hoy por Hoy, and reaffirmed his conviction at the press conference after the meeting of the Council of the Xunta.
What’s new in phase 2
The advancement of phases supposes that the mobility restrictions that governed the community are relaxed a little more and new activities are allowed, always, yes, adopting security measures, such as interpersonal distance, or the use of masks in closed public spaces, and on the street, when the proper separation cannot be maintained.
In this new stage, time slots for walks are eliminated, although there will continue to be preferential times for the most vulnerable groups. In addition, it will be possible to visit people with disabilities in residences and family homes, but only by a relative.
In education, Nursery schools will be allowed to open up to 6 years of age to facilitate conciliation, and the return to the classroom, on a voluntary basis, of the students of the courses that represent the end of a training cycle will be allowed.
As of Monday, Weddings with a limited number of attendees are allowed, and a greater influx of wakes is allowed. Regarding the capacity of places of worship, the limit is set at 50%.
They open too museums, monuments and cinemas, although with capacity limitations (one third of its capacity), and requiring a minimum distance between users. In the case of cinemas, the seats will be pre-assigned and cannot be together. Shows will also be allowed, both in theaters (maximum of 50 people) and outdoors (the limit will be 400), with the audience seated.
Also reopen malls, with a capacity limitation of 40%, and with the prohibition of staying in common areas. In premises where, due to size, distance between people cannot be guaranteed, there may not be more than one customer at the time in the establishment. As for the outdoor markets, the number of stalls can be expanded.
Restrictions in the hospitality industry are also relaxed, which can be served at a table inside the premises, with a third of its capacity, and with the same distance between tables as those that govern the terraces.
Finally, in sports matters, Basic training allowed in federated non-professional leagues, and total in the professionals. Sports facilities can be reopened in closed spaces, as long as contact sports are not practiced.
As in phase 1, trips to the second residence are allowed, as long as it is within the same province.
